KPIs
Add the numbers behind each responsibility, set a target and log them weekly, daily or monthly.
KPIs are the numbers that tell you a responsibility is going well, like "Order-to-ship days" for "Fulfillment speed". Most leaders own 2 to 4. ClearAim keeps them in view every week so they never fade by week six.
Add a KPI
- Open KPIs (or press G K).
- Choose Add a KPI.
- Fill in:
- Responsibility: the one this number belongs to. Every KPI sits under exactly one responsibility.
- Name: short and clear, like "On-time shipping".
- Unit: days, %, $, orders, whatever fits.
- Logged: weekly, daily or monthly.
- Good looks like: higher is better, lower is better, or stay within a range (with a low end and a high end).
- Target: optional, but once it's set the sparkline shows the distance to go.
- Save it. Owners and admins can also pick who owns the KPI.

Log a value
There are three easy ways:
- Reply to your check-in. Write it the way you'd say it: "On-time shipping 94". ClearAim picks up the number and logs it for you. See AI matching and Undo.
- Use the check-in form. Your KPIs show as blanks to fill in on weekly check-ins (daily check-ins show your daily KPIs).
- Log it by hand. On the KPIs page, choose Log value next to the KPI, pick any day in the period and enter the number.
One value per period. Logging again for the same week (or day, or month) replaces the earlier value, so fixing a typo is easy.
Reading the KPIs page
- KPIs are grouped by leader and responsibility, with a filter to see one leader at a time.
- Each KPI shows its latest value, a small sparkline and how far it is from the target. The dashed line is the target.
- On target means you're there. Still closing the gap (in calm blue) means there's distance to go.
- On the Overview and in the brief, a KPI whose on-track outcome aims at the same target shows as On pace, since it's moving the right way.
Pausing or retiring a KPI
Edit the KPI and switch off Active. It stops showing on pages and in check-ins, and its history stays put. Switch it back on any time.
Tips
- Pick numbers you can log in under a minute. If it takes a spreadsheet hunt, it won't get logged.
- Link outcomes to KPIs. An outcome like "Cut order-to-ship from 6 days to 4" with the KPI attached makes progress obvious in the brief.
- Export any time. KPIs and their values can be downloaded as CSV from the KPIs page.
